About the Director - Miss Brigitte

Brigitte has been dancing since age 2. She has travelled throughout the country studying extensively all types of dance, including ballet, jazz, tap, musical theatre and hip hop with Masters in NYC, Boston, and Chicago. She trained locally at Walnut Hill School of the Arts and earned a BA in Education at Salem State College. She has worked as a radio and DJ dancer for WJMN, WODS, and WKIX. A former school teacher, Brigitte has owned and operated Dance With Brigitte for 9 years.

Miss Erin
Erin Grogan started dancing at the age of three. As a child she studied ballet, tap, jazz and acrobat at the Alice Franze Dance Studio and the Andover School of Ballet. At age 13, she [performed in the Pittsburgh Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker. At Governor Dummer Academy, Erin continued to study and perform. At Hamilton College, Erin majored in Government but continued her study of dance movement and dance history. For the past three summers, she has taught dance for the STEP Program run by Deerfield Academy and continues to study Hip Hop, Tap, and Jazz in Boston. Most importantly, Erin loves what she does. It is very important to her that she makes a positive difference in every child’s life she touches.

Miss Andrea – Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop
Andrea started dancing at age 3. She took classes and began her teaching career at Broadway Studio of Performing Arts in Chelsea where she trained in Ballet, Tap, Lyrical, Jazz and Pointe. Through the Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston’s Dance Teachers Training program she received her dance teacher’s certificate in 1999 and has taught and choreographed for St. Michael’s Country Day Summer Theatre Program, the Newport Academy of Ballet, Roger Williams University Theatre and Stage Company. She earned a BA in Theatre from RWU and is currently working on her MAT/MA in English at Salem State College. font>

Miss Heather – Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop
Heather studied locally and graduated from LaPierre and Emerson College, where she earned a BFA in Dance. She has danced with the Boston Ballet Theater and Berkshire Ballet's Nutcracker. She formally ran and choreographed for Compulsions Dance Company. She trained in jazz, tap, ballet and floor barre at Steps in New York. She has taught at many studios in the area and in New Hampshire. Currently she is training at Green Street Studio and the Dance Complex in Cambridge.

Miss Cassandra – Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop
Cassandra has been studying dance for sixteen years concentrating in ballet, jazz, and modern. She recently earned her BA in Visual Arts from Pine Manor College. She has trained at the Northeast School of Ballet, Jeannette Neil Dance Studio, Pine Manor College and the Lisa Liston School of Dance. Cassandra feels it is important for students to improvise and create their own dances as well as learn some of the classic ballets and famous choreography. Her passion is most rewarded when she teaches young students and sees the joy that comes from within them.

Miss Julie – Irish Step
Julie attends Baystate College where she is majoring in Fashion Merchandising. She has been Irish Step dancing for 16 years and has assisted her teachers teach young children from ages four to fifteen. She has been all around the U.S competing and even Ireland. She loves to dance and teach children this special talent. “I would just love to share my talent with children and maybe they will have as much love, fun, and passion I have for Irish Step Dancing.”

Miss Jackie – Birthday Party Specialist and Substitute Teacher
Jackie started dancing at the age of 4. She has taken jazz, hip-hop, cheer dance and ballet classes. She was a varsity football and basketball cheerleader at Matignon High School. Jackie was captain for 4 seasons and has received 2 All Star cheerleading awards along with an MVP award. Her squad was invited to perform at Gillette Stadium for the first home game for the New England Patriots in 2005. She is now attending Worcester State College, where she is working towards a major in communications and is a dancer and choreographer in the Worcester State Dance Company.

Miss Erin
Erin Mahoney started dancing at age 3. She immediately fell in love with dance and knew that it would always be a major part of her life. She has studied ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap and cheer leading in Boston, New York City and Maracibo Venezuela. She has performed in many venues, including the Wachovia Spectrum in Philadelphia. The Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, and various nightclubs in Boston and NYC. She performed with Dance Prism a local ballet company for several years. Erin also graduated from The Elizabeth Grady School of Aesthetics and has her state license. She worked as a flight attendant traveling internationally with North American Airlines, based out of JFK airport. When she is not teaching she enjoys, reading fashion magazines and watching soap operas. She has had many jobs, but never has found anything more fulfilling than dancing. It truly is her passion.

Miss Abby – Studio Assistant
Miss Abby is the newest member to the Dance With Brigitte staff and we don’t know what we did without her! She’s a local high school junior at the Charter School where she spends her afternoons as a cheerleader. Abby loves to dance and loves to assist classes here at the studio. Her favorite style of dance is jazz and also loves ballet, modern and hip hop.
